We Love the King
We Love the King

That’s what his shirt says.

2006 marked the 60th anniversary of the king of Thailand’s ascension to the throne. As he was born on a Monday it’s said that yellow is his color, so to honor him, many people wear yellow shirts. During this year (and beyond), one will see a majority of people wearing yellow shirts on Mondays, although some people wear them on other days of the week as well. Even offices and banks allow employees to wear the yellow shirts on Mondays to show respect for the king. Some companies provided yellow shirts to all of its employees. He is very highly regarded by the Thai people.

These children, brother and sister I believe, were playing while their mother finished her meal at this alley noodle shop in Bangkok. They liked seeing their photos on the LCD.
