This photo was taken in northern Thailand near the Burmese (Myanmar) border outside of Mae Sai. These are Burmese workers who are allowed to travel the short distance from Burma to work for seven days before returning to have their papers stamped by the immigration authorities on both sides. They are then allowed to return for another seven days… and repeat. These women were wonderfully friendly and jovial. Men and woman work together planting rice here.
