This young Thai girl was walking ahead of me along the sidewalk in Thailand, swinging two bags of Sprite. When she arrived at the entrance of her very humble home, she saw me preparing to take her photo. I immediately lowered the camera so as not to startle her. She went inside, then stepped back out, then inside and back out again. I lowered the camera a few times so that she could see my face as we played our little game. Then we smiled to each other and parted ways.

This gate is an entrance to what is now mostly a vacant lot, except for a few corrugated tin buildings in which a few people live.
